So I decided to finally write something here.
Let's see ... I'm an intense and neurotic (I know, terrible combination) redhead who lives mostly in my own imagination. It's so much more fun in there.
I enjoy music (particularly the bands listed below, as well as singing and playing the piano, both of which I have been doing my entire life), reading (I study literature, which is awesome), writing (anything and everything, but perhaps particularly fanfiction), water (swimming around in it, drinking it, watching it flow - anything, really), running (preferably by myself with an mp3 player full of awesome music), getting into hopeless discussions with people and telling them why their point of view is backwards (people tend to respond very well to this), films (good ones) ...
I very avidly support equal rights for all human beings, no matter their colour, nationality, height, weight, gender, sexual orientation, religion, political affiliations, etc. Having said this, I must admit that I do sometimes wish I could ship all the conservative religious people to a secluded island somewhere - they make everything so difficult. I say this as a religious person myself, who is sick and tired of being compared to these people. I'll give you one of my new, favourite quotes:
"Conventionality is not morality. Self-righteousness is not religion." (Charlotte Brontë)
Really, I shouldn't limit my island-sending wishes to religious conservatives. Let's throw in all the conservatives. And people who are close-minded. And Jessica Alba.
... was I just talking about tolerance? Do I have to take that back now?
... No, seriously, I just think that open-mindedness, selflessness, forgiveness and love are key characteristics that the world sorely lacks. Religious or not, I wish people would be more accepting, and more open. The world would be so much better for it.
Anyway, on this site I like to write the occasional poem, but mostly I make motivational posters. This doesn't really require a lot of talent, other than the fact that you have to be able to find an appropriate heading and caption (which I suppose does require some sense of language and humour), so I have a very high degree of respect for all the amazing artists here! You are all much more awesome than I am.
I do write quite a lot, however, though I tend to be slightly scatter-brained, which leads to project upon project, though few of them have been or will ever be finished. Sadly.
I am hoping to post two things during the course of this year though: One is a Star Trek fic (K/S) called "Finding Trinity". The other is a Harry Potter fic called "Changed". So we'll see how that goes.
Anywho, that's enough information for one sitting, I think.
Ta', everyone.
